It's original. A classic. You don't see unique movies like this anymore.

**An obnoxious kid meets an equally obnoxious monster and find friendship by wreaking havoc on the lives of little children. A great idea that doesn't quite translate to a great film. Nevertheless, the design of final villain is first-rate.**

Definitely a classic from my childhood. I thought watching it 30 years later would be a disappointment, but it was actually still enjoyable.

Nostalgia hits hard with this one! It’s not the greatest movie ever, but it sure is fun! The style and vibe going on with most of this film really stands on its own. They don’t make them like this anymore, which makes me jump to the conclusion that most people watching this for the first time will be more conflicted than those with nostalgia. Regardless, good time and worth watching.

Caution - this is a little harsh for kids. Parts even made me uncomfortable.

Little Monsters presents an entertaining and creative fantasy tale, but it’s a little too unfocused and superficial. When Brian sets out to prove to his brother that there are no monsters in his bedroom, he discovers that not only are monsters real but that they come from a wondrous, magical world. Fred Savage and Howie Mandel lead the cast and make for a fun comedic duo. But, the story is weak and the comedy is overly juvenile. The makeup and effects are rather interesting, yet they’re not put to much use. While it works at times, Little Monsters ultimately fails to deliver the whimsical adventure that it promises.

Surprisingly creepy for a family film, this is one of the lesser monster comedies of the 1980's.
