Long Day's Journey into Night

Having just stepped out a steamy shower, imagine drying your body with a warm, heavily damp towel. A delicately lit love dream, a dream so visually ravishing and aurally astonishing. Film is the blend of visuals and audio, and films like this make me realise more and more why I love film. This Chinese art piece is stunning; I recommend to literally everyone. Swimming through a whole planet of exposition with it scripted at every bend, even these scenes of dialogue feel dreamy and spellbinding. Usually, pure exposition is a bad thing but it's so entrancing here, that I can't help but let it go. That's just the first half though...and wow! What a magical second half! I don't think I've seen long takes quite as good as this; I was speechless. Bi Gan, who I had never heard of until now, has allowed me to sail away, he let me take a long day and turn it into night. :sleeping_accommodation: :zzz:
