Belgrade, 1996. [New Horizons FF] The story of a teenager who feels caught between his friends' protests against Slobodan Milošević's electoral fraud in 1996, and his mother who works for the party, show the internal pain and uncertainty more accurately than when it is expressed clearly. There are some overly obvious symbolism, but also a staging that represents isolation and the progressive separation from the mother. But the film manages above all to show the roots of violence as an endemic evil in a society that has been led by the authoritarianism of its political class.
