Think any sequel from Starship Troopers (maybe even the original) meets inglorius bastards right after WWII, and that is the movie you've got here. I had a lot of fun watching this, highly recommended!

Pretty much exactly what you'd expect a crowd funded ridiculous retro exploitation action flick to be. Plenty of silly fun with low brow Swiss themed visual jokes and puns, nerdy references, and over the top action and visual effects. But also subpar acting, somewhat lacking in form, tedious and derivative from both it's original sources and other pastisch of its kind. Then again, only a fool would expect it to be good.

According to the filmmakers, "Mad Heidi" is a swissploitation film where all imaginable Swiss heritage, particularly cheese, is exploited in the worst ways, mostly leading to bloody mayhem.

As an independent project financed by fans, the film boasts remarkable technical and artistic craftsmanship. However, it seems to lack the touch of a visionary director capable of elevating the source material. Especially during the sparse action sequences, everything seems to resolve in only a few shots, often resulting in anticlimactic moments, as if they realized they didn't have enough footage only in the middle of the editing process.

The trailer captures all the best moments in just a few minutes, leaving the rest of the film with a lesser impact than expected.
Nonetheless, I’m up for any sequel.

As a Wisconsinite, I can understand the seriousness of cheese. But I thought it was an entertaining exploitation type film.

This is a crowdfunded ridiculously absurd, very B-movie. It really is quite bad but it does have its moments.

How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!

"Lactose intolerance - the threat from inside"

But be aware, it's not all funny quips - it was traumatic to watch the different cheese based tortures

And it's all done with sickeningly cheesy accents

If crowd sourced comedies with Nazis are your thing, and you thought Iron Sky Was great viewing (yep, I contributed to the funding of those movies) then Mad Heidi may fill that gap you have been craving

But this type of movie isn't for every one

>I understand the importance of independent cinema. However, not everyone has Quentin Tarantino's talent.

That said, I believe that the film has its production merits, especially the graphics, the rest is terrible. The story is very weak and the cast is very bad except for the old actors. All in all, it was a fun afternoon session.

I don't usually enjoy trash so much, but this one was way more enjoyable than I thought. It is exceptionally hilarious and even had some nasty gore. It has unexpected references and the whole cast makes a great job. The end felt a bit rushed and more cheap as the rest of the movie. It definitely would have benefit from a little bit better action and less slapstick. But my unforeseeable satisfaction after watching it earns it some extra credit.

Cheese Nazis and Swissploitation...

Yeah... Not as fun as it sounds. I can't really tell if this was too stupid, or actually needed more stupid. All I know is that all the good damn cheese may have fried my brain...

I feel that I have more than fulfilled my cinephile obligation to the "Swissploitation" genre for several lifespans. If anyone sees the 1h 32m I lost, I'd like them back. It almost does a full lap around bad, to get to "so bad, its kind of good"... almost.

Well, what did you expect. Iron Sky meets Heidi. Or something like that. If you know what you’re expecting you will have a lot of fun.

There were some shortcomings - it needed too much time for Heidi to get „Mad“, but otherwise a great movie.

And keep in mind the budget was only 3 millions and it was filmed in Switzerland - where it costs for sure doubly as much as at „the usual locations“.

I really hope that Heidi will be back!

>*"In just a few days, you'll be on your knees, begging for cheese."*

Cheese and patriotism on the menu here in this *swiss-ploitation* so bad it's good comedy horror. It has every ingredient to make it a fun watch: Swiss cheese zombies, Kung-Fu sword fighting nuns, gladiator fights, Kommandant Knorr's badass accent, cheese fondue and a cheese load of cheesy cheese puns. The characters are colorful and hilarious, the music choices are superb and it has some bloody cool kills. The exaggeration is cranked up to ten and so is the campyness. I enjoyed the first two acts quite a lot but the third act just didn't land that well for me, i'm aware it's low budget but the action sequences looked absolutely terrible. The cheese jokes never failed though. *Rest in cheese, bitch!*
