This is wrong in so many ways. They took the Mad Max tag and put it on an otherwise mediocre movie with a bad script. Maybe this would have been a good Indiana Jones movie but this isn't Mad Max by any means.

And while Tina Turner is a great singer/performer on stage, she is one of the worst actresses I've seen.

If you'd liked the first two then you better don't watch this

@finfan Ha ha, I only ever watched this one. Didn't even know there were 2 more before this. So, I had best go back and watch them now, too. Thanks for the head's up, mate!

I’m not going to waste my time writing a bad review. It’s the worst sh*t ever and a disgrace.

A far-fetched continuation of the series.

The first half of the film stages the most elaborate and "advanced" post-apocalypse up to this part of the series, putting Max in the middle of a power struggle between two parties seeking sole control of a city. The main character becomes the pawn, this rivalry, but the biggest casualty is the second half of the film. This one I would just like to summarise as Hook in the post-apocalypse or Mad Max the kindergarten teacher. If the film had stayed closer to Thunderdome and become something of a gladiator, it would be a 4 out of 5. Beyond Thunderdome, unfortunately, it's only a 1 out of 5.

A more family friendly Max film. That is pretty much Max and Peter Pan’s Lost Boys teaming up. The last action scene does at least feel like Mad Max.
I find the film entertaining. Even if the middle doesn’t make much sense. With Max being mistaken for a pilot and worshipped by a young tribe.

Great first act but it goes down hill once Max is casted away to the desert.

Good. You need a sense of humour for this one. Boring? I found the first Mad Max more boring.

After the awesome movie that was Mad Max 2, this one surely feels like it takes a step backwards. I still enjoyed it more than the original, as it has the “Mad Max” feel I went into the trilogy expecting. Overall, a solid and pretty consistent trilogy. I could easily see this being one where everyone has a different “favorite”. For me, this one is in the middle but not by much either way.

Rating: 3/5 - 7.5/10 - Worth Watching

You’re telling me they cast Bruce Spence to play the same character he played in The Road Warrior but it’s not actually the same character?

Definitely the weakest entry in the series.

I'm a pretty big fan of the first two Mad Max movies. They are dark, gritty and stylish. Thunderdome is not like these at all. it's campy, light-hearted, and silly with an almost non-existent plot and some poor acting (I'm looking at you Tina). Thunderdome feels like it should be part of another franchise. Better to stick with the first 2 and forget this even exists.
