Only the second time seeing this (last was probably in the early 2000s on DVD) and thought it was okay but guess like others, this has grown on me. Laughed throughout even when the dialogue wasn't the greatest, but I have an appreciation for sarcasm so I gravitated towards Jason Lee's character the most. Not quite sure it's on the level of Clerks or Chasing Amy (have to re-visit those) but a solid comedy. **3.75/5**

When two best friends TS Quint (Jeremy London) and Brodie (Jason Lee) are both dumped by their girlfriends they seek comfort at the local mall.

Kevin Smith has a type of humour that some people love, and some people hate. To me, this is a pretty funny movie but not overly hilarious. You can kind of know what to expect what you are getting from a Kevin Smith movie through the fairly clever script and his love for comics.

Jason Lee is a real laugh and is light and day above Jeremy London. He is funny, full of energy and is great. I can not say the same about London who just felt like a dry bystander for most of this movie. The film contains many actors Smith has used before in his movies such as the always wonderful Ben Affleck, Jason Mewes as the classic Jay and of course Kevin Smith himself as Silent Bob. I want to give it a shoutout to Ethan Suplee as William, his whole sub plot while not crucial to the main plot gave me some laughs.

Mallrats delivers what you would expect from Smith. If just it had a better second lead alongside Jason Lee, it could have been even better. 6/10.
