For something that starts as a fairly promising folk horror, this film quickly fades into one that doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be. A nice atmosphere and a promising set up are ruined by a clumsily directed plot. I really thought there would be more substance to this, however the film becomes repetitive and dull very quickly. That's quite disappointing since most Irish horror that I've seen are all solid. The performances are okay and there are also moments which kinda gross me out but as a whole it just never strikes the right balance between the witchy stuff, crime, and drama. Overall, it's forgettable but not entirely bad for a debut film.

Irish witchcraft folklore horror with a mystery. It's well-acted, has great visuals and a whole lot of atmosphere. I was invested in the first half of the movie but completely lost track of the story honestly. It felt muddy and half-baked. The witch was decently wickedly witchy though.

Begins quite well but the plot becomes more confusing as it goes on. As such, this didn't manage to put a spell on me.
