It's a great movie. Excruciating in so many ways, as it's intended to be. But I'm not a big fan of open endings.

I somewhat agree however I feel like in this case it was warranted. Mental trauma really never goes away so there really isn’t a “good” resolution this movie could’ve taken to wrap things up in my opinion. She’ll live with that terror forever.

Really liked this, don't agree with the weak ending comment - much happier with it being left hanging than seeing a disappointing conclusion crowbarred in... I thought it was fairly clear what was going on at the end, but there was enough wriggle room left for you to draw a number of different conclusions.

Elizabeth Olsen was fantastic. Excited now to see her in Kill Your Darlings, the Oldboy remake and of course the next Avengers. Very talented.

A haunting thriller about a cult escapee’s identity crisis. Olsen and Hawkes are superb.

What an interesting, terrifying and realistic look into how cults brainwash and affect people. Elizabeth Olsen's performance is great and anyone who is a fan of her should check this film out.

Good acting, really nicely shot, but ultimately slow and meaningless ending with so many openings....

I thought the way the story was told was OK, but the timeline idea was overused. I didn't believe that Martha had lost her social knowledge after just two years.
This movie could have been deeper. It could have stepped outside the personal story and made some good social commentary. It did touch on capitalism vs socialism after an hour, but that was a few lines and nothing new. Martha is a misunderstood victim yet all she really needs to do is talk, yet she doesn't because the movie is structured around this very idea. A lot of tension and scenes are based around Martha doing inappropriate things or freaking out and I didn't believe the logic behind it. The formula becomes repetitive and makes the slow pace seem slower. So overall the writing failed to work for me. The acting was good. I'd still recommend this movie because I believe people will enjoy it and not care about what I see as faults.

Very good movie. It was so hard to watch, with its very tense atmosphere. Great performances of the cast and the singing was actually pretty good!

While watching there were parts where I was like: 'Just tell your sister' and I really felt like I couldn't understand her, couldn't understand what she was thinking. If she was even thinking at all. But that might be the bitter truth, that when you're so sucked into a cult, you can't escape.

That's what I liked about the ending. That guy might have been from the cult, getting ready to get her back and kill her sister and her husband. Or not. Maybe the cult is still basically all she can see, all she can think about. She's gone from the cult, but the cult isn't gone from her thoughts. Its memories still linger.

Very emotional to watch, don't think I'll easily forget about this movie.
