My God but Xavier Dolan is a gifted director. He wields such a subtle and sensitive camera that it'll sometimes steal your breath. Imagine what he could've done had _Matthias & Maxime_ had more of a story!

I have long been a fan of Dolan's work and this one didn't disappoint. Relationships are complicated, especially when you're hiding your true feelings, and the film expressed this reality well. As both actor and director, Dolan commits himself well. Its not his best film, but it is much better than a lot of the junk that is churned out by mainstream Hollywood.

This is the first time I leave a review, I just had to. I had a feeling this film was going to be very special to me from the very first 15 minutes or so and I was right. What first caught my attention was the cinematography and then the acting, and when *that* scene happened between the two protagonists, I instantly thought I was going to give the film a 10, which I truly do not give out often. I was holding my breath, almost shaking and feeling literally everything they were feeling. Also, the soundtrack is magical. This was my first Xavier Dolan film and I can't wait to check out more of his work.
