Good first half, it introduces the plot quite well, and even if slow, it works to give a good atmosphere. But I found the second half inconclusive, you can indeed hint what has happened, but that is all, just an hint.

I have to admit sleeping through most of this. Definitely file this under art house.

Slow cinema done right - beautiful, poignant and never intrusive.

People complain about a movie being slow as if a two and a quarter hour meditation is somehow a bigger crime than fifty hours of deadening CGI about a purple man getting a magic mitten.

Like staring at a wall so long you lose your perspective: it's dreamy, destabilizing and as slow as a snail crawling across sandpaper.

This is a weird movie starring No Sound and with Noise as a supporting actor. It's basically a +2-hour song without lyrics or music.

( If you do decide to see this, I strongly recommend reading up in it beforehand so you have at least an idea of what to expect.)

I expected much more acting. Tilda spends 90% of the film with a poker face. The slow pace isn't necessarily bad but the final explanation leaves a few open threads. Probably not really enjoyable except if you are a film student or something.

Nope. I'm usually very open when it comes to "artsy" films that don't provide an actual plot or storyline. But this was too much for me. 2 hours and 17 minutes of pure boredom. Is this some kind of meta humor where the film itself acts as Xanax and puts the crowd to sleep because Tilda Swinton can't find any?
This film actually has multiple 2min+ shots on random nature, "sleeping" guys and the sky that are basically freeze frames. Most of the rare dialogue in the film is prententious, esoteric bullshit that doesn't make any sense. There is possibly some super deep meaning behind all of this, but after the credits rolled, I just didn't care at all. Just wanted to leave the theatre.

There were already so many of them, slow, with freezing pictures, with hints and pretensions for something deep and philosophic, dreaming and multilayerish. You start meditating (if lucky not to fall asleep).. And then some grey farting bubble takes off in the middle of colombia jungle to wake you up. And you realise, ohh that one has everything to get an Oscar..

It is a complex film, which traps the viewer or causes distance, but ends up being as exciting as it is cryptic. An incursion into the past through sound, memory impregnated in stones, a thousand unanswered questions, like a fantasy that is not comfortable in reality or in the imagination. But it has a power of fascination that keeps your attention, waiting for the sound of that "huge concrete ball falling on metal surrounded by sea water" as an invisible threat.
