Michael Clayton was great. With a fantastic script and cast, there wasn't any need to resort to action to keep things suspenseful or tense. The opening monologue was particularly cool and a great way to start the movie.

"I'm not the guy you kill. I'm the guy you buy! Are you so fucking blind that you don't even see what I am? I sold out Arthur for 80 grand. I'm your easiest problem and you're gonna kill me?" George Clooney kills it in this one! He's perfect for the role. The story keeps you at the edge of your seat and near the end the tension keeps growing. Michael Clayton wasn't the movie I was expecting at all but I'm happy for that. Sometimes it is great to be surprised. Haven't seen that many legal thrillers but I might have to seek more of them out. Best bit? The opening dialogue and the final scene. Starts off strong and ends on high!

Good paranoid thriller in the style of the ones made in the 70s. The first 30 minutes or so are so confusing that it will put a lot of people off. But it gets better once you know who the characters are and what the story is about (if you haven't read the synopsis).

Honestly, I don't even like George Clooney as an actor, but I love John Grisham books and this script was the perfect vehicle for Clooney. I actually was riveted to this movie and thoroughly enjoyed it.
