I loved the aesthetic of this movie. It's nostalgic by just looking at it. I thought the group of kids were a lot of fun together, especially Na-kel Smith. Katherine Waterston was great as the mom but Lucas Hedges felt miscast. I liked the music a lot. The skating video was great. Jonah Hill did a good job as a first time director and I'd be interested in seeing more of what he does in the future.

Jonah Hill's directorial debut in Mid90s was a really good one if u ask me an interesting project with an nostalgic vibe, really enjoyed being around the charcters and seeing their point of views on things. Interested to see where Hill goes from here.

I had read that this was modern Kids and well, for better or worse, it is not that. It is however a really good movie that is a shit ton of fun and an accurate and loving tribute to the best decade there ever was with a ridiculously spot on perfect soundtrack.

An assured directorial debut for Jonah Hill; this is an affectionate, nostalgic, and moving tale of isolation, friendship, and the need to be a part of something.

I'm in love with this film's cinematography.

Why is Kratos' boy tryna skate, though?

All I can say about this movie is that it is quite possibly the best 90s movie that's not from the 90s. (seriously, if you don't know the cast and crew involved, you could genuinely pass this off as an indie film from that era) Great acting by the cast, investing story about a young boy trying to fitting in with a group of skateboarders, cool soundtrack (as well as music score by Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor of NIN fame), and superb camerawork. If this film is still showing in a cinema near you, I highly recommend you go see it, as it will be definitely worth your time.

Made with style, nostalgia and with great performances throughout, Mid90's downfall is a lack of through-line or motive to tie what is being shown on-screen together. Hill clearly has many messages to convey with this movie, but it comes off somewhat scrapbook-y in it's approach. Definitely interested to see where he goes next as he refines his craft with another story.

Ok, I confess that I wasn't expecting too much for this one, but man... I loved this movie, the aesthetic really made me feel on 90s and it happened a kind of identitification with the history, this is a good coming of age. I am angry with Fuckshit and I want more friends like Ray.
