Kid's movie or not, modern writers should really turn off autopilot on their scripts and spread their wings more.

Basically a *Madagascar* spin-off. I don't know what I was expecting but this was clearly aimed at kids, doesn't do much for me. The animation looks good, familiar themes with a fresh coat of paint, characters are the usuals, decent voice cast, a few funny moments. I get this weird feeling once i've finished it like something was missing. Very average.

Judging this as a kids movie, I thought this was pretty great. The animation is beautiful, the voice work was solid, and even cracked a few laughs.

Has some fun moments but overall unremarkable; basically everything it does was done better by some other films. Similar in narrative to The Brave Little Toaster, but while those characters had a strong and relatable incentive for going on an adventure, this bunch do it for no particular reason... a whim. The low-stakes premise and scarce character development numb the film, producing very little to care about and depriving of tension, leaving slapstick comedy and eye-candy visuals as the main hooks.

_Migration_ was a decent and okay movie. I had medium expectations as _Illumination_ released some real bangers.
However _Migration_ met my expectations I think. The animation was gorgeous and breathtaking, really incredible.
But the rest I think was just okay.. You have a kinda fun and interesting idea for this movie. But I think this one wasn't anything special. I don't really know how to put it in words.
If you ask me _Migration_ is just a basic kids movie that is kind of forgettible but still good with, as said, great visuals.
From a childs perspective I think this movie could be amazing.

I was underwhelmed, especially as the movie has a 72% on RT. Reminds me of The Good Dinosaur - a bit bland, a few scary scenes that really hurt the film’s overall atmosphere, forgettable characters, and basically unmemorable.

Migration is a good family movie. There are a couple of scenes that are truly great, but as a whole, the film does nothing to stand out from the pile of mediocre animated films.

Great family movie with wonderful colours and images. Themes like the fear of the unknown, family, taking chances and getting out of your comfort zone and beating the stereotypes are all over this movie! Would recommend it.

It's a super solid 7/10... All characters are likeable and have their funny moments.

Defo worth a watch. :)

Migration is exactly what I thought it was going to be beautiful animation with, a great voice cast (especially from Danny DeVito and whoever plays Qwen also Awkwafina is way overused nowadays) with some humorous moments, entertaining throughout and a pretty basic generic story. One of Illumination's least memorable films but not the weakest.
