The only reason to tell a story in such a convoluted way is because the story is junk. There were bits that were interesting, but in general the concept is seriously flawed and the "science" is garbage. Nothing that was said or shown made any sense whatsoever. The only redeeming part of the movie was the exceptional cinematography. Some of the camera angles were very annoying, but they fit with craptastic storytelling, so I will give them a pass on artistic merit.

Not something I would rate highly but... [spoiler] I admit that it was a confusing and rambling movie until the actual last 10 minutes and then... aha ! OK. That makes some sort of sense. [/spoiler]

I think there was a story in this somewhere. (I fell asleep at the end). It was beautifully filmed. I may rewatch it someday when I'm not so tired. Neat concept though.
