It was missing the charm or something from the show. They tried to make an Indiana Jones movie starring Phryne. Convoluted, and the beginning sequence was far too much.

Just short of being a film I enjoyed.

It's worth noting I have never seen an episode of the television series, though with this being a standalone film it doesn't seem to be a problem - I didn't feel like I needed to know anything major throughout the 102 minutes at least.

I almost felt entertained by 'Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears'. It's well acted, shot fairly nicely and has a decent plot. Essie Davis does good in the lead role of Fisher, while a few of the other cast members around do alright things. However, everything about this feels sluggish to me. It never feels strongly connected or exciting, with all the events just occurring without much fuss. The score is weak, also.

Not a bad film at all, just a bit meh.

This was really just ok. It felt completely disconnected while also feeling connected from the existing series unfortunately. Just felt like something was missing.

That was uhh not great. They pushed the romance angle so hard and so obviously that it didn't work at all and the chemistry went poof! like it had never existed in the first place (which is a SHAME). And I love that they brought the entire cast back but they kind of lost when they took the story out of Australia and thus left Dot and her constable beau out of the film.

If you're a fan of Miss Fisher, might I instead suggest you check out her niece's show, _Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries_, which actually does live up to the original series?
