Really enjoyed this movie, good action and some very cool funny moments. Probably the best out out of the series so far (either this or the 1st, hard to pick without watching again).

@ltfearme my exact thoughts. 2 and 3 were ok to maybe great at best. 1st was great at whole espionage spy atmosphere and 4th was great with action and stunts (especially Burj Khalifa one).

Brad Bird really nailed this spy thriller. The Dubai set piece is really fantastic and the highlight of the movie. Tom Cruise is just crazy with the stunts he does. Jeremy Renner is a good addition to the cast and giving more screen time to Simon Pegg is always a good idea. I just wish we had more Ving Rhames.

Afraid of heights?

Everything in the Burj Khalifa tower (Dubai) was top tier spy stuff, the elaborate meeting, the cool spy gadgets, the fights and Tom Cruise hanging in mid-air at 1700 feet—now that's an impossible mission! (at least for me). Sandstorm sequence that followed was intense and Mumbai looked amazing. Compared to the first three movies, ***Ghost Protocol*** has some real team work (Ethan, Jane, Benji and William) create some interesting dynamics. Simon Pegg really shines here, his character is lighthearted and comedic which creates a balance with Cruise's more serious character. Jeremy Renner is fine as an actor but his character is too simplistic and forgettable. Excellent score that always matches the country we're in (Mumbai one is my favorite), phenomenal stunt work, interesting story, grand set pieces and forgettable villain. Great ending. Best entry in the franchise yet!

@dulneth-p it is. 1 is average, 2 is terrible, 3 is good, 4 is really good. Haven't seen 5 and 6 yet but they're apparently the most favored in the franchise. So they get better and better!

Ethan Hunt is back again in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol…the question is why? M:I-3 seemed to have tied the series up fairly well, but once again Hunt finds himself on another impossible mission to stop a rogue faction from launching a nuclear strike. The acting is pretty piss-poor (even by action film standards) and the special effects aren't much better. There are a few clever action sequences and some inventive high-tech devises, but the story is garbage. If not for Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg this film would be a complete waste; but Renner and Pegg add a lot of energy to their scenes and keep the story moving. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is uninspired and halfhearted, but it still delivers a high adrenaline adventure (mindless as it may be).

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol is another strong outing for the franchise, and is almost up to par with the third and first instalment.

Everything feels a bit more like Mission: Impossible should feel. Having an impossible mission. It takes more after the tv-series, which pleased me immensely, but still retains the feel that was established in the M: I 3.

The acting was great, but even though I love Simon Peg, the comic relief was rather mishandled. I doubt that was Peggs fault though...

Anyway...all-in-all a great spy thriller and worth watching even if you haven't seen the other instalments.

If I had to sum up M:I IV in two words it would be "Mission: Accomplished", just like Ethan Hunt uttered towards the end of the film. Mission: Impossible IV Ghost Protocol was even more impressive then the last one, and the two before that; easily making it my favorite in the whole film franchise. Not only did it have a great story line plot, it was suspenseful, thrilling, and action packed. As with Mission: Impossible III you can definitely tell J.J. Abrams mark on the film; the dude knows how to make great movies.

I feel like this is the one that gave life back to the series, and man did it do it well. Brad Bird killed it with this live action debut and I absolutely love that they didn't forget to have some fun with this one.
