More people need to see this film because honestly, it is great in every way as it has an amazing story regarding what happened to Indian people who were forced out of Uganda but at the same time, it is also like a modern Romeo and Juliet (but better). Every single person plays their part perfectly but especially Denzel Washington (Demetrius Williams), Sarita Choudhury (Meena), Sharmila Tagore (Kinnu) and they stand out for me is Roshan Seth (Jay) who gives just an amazingly emotional and relatable performance.

This film highlights lots of prejudice at the time but also it's sad to say is still relevant to what is going on today in the world, I might be miss quoting but the character played by Roshan Seth says "Hatred has no colour" and never has truer words been said in a film which deals with this real-life event in Uganda. Honestly, I found this film very educational but also very made and doesn't surprise that the director Mira Nair became such a well-regarded world cinema director because her art of storytelling and directing is truly beautiful in this film.

It's not an easy film to find but honestly please do if you are at all interested because it is worth a watch.
