Film 46 (Goal: 300) of 2024 This was a real surprise. I went in with near to no expectations off the synopsis and loved it more and more as it went along. There's nothing new here but I was enjoying everything I was watching. Jung Jong-seo was a revelation here and I hope to see her in more things moving forward. Kate Hudson is good in a different role for her, though sometimes the writing lets her down. There's a great selection of music that adds atmosphere to the film. Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon has a synthwave, neon vibe that against the party atmosphere of New Orleans, is a character of it's own.

:heart:x6 This was a pretty decent movie. Only one real complaint - if there is no sequel then we never really find out anything about Mona Lisa. Otherwise, it is thoroughly engaging. Ed Skrein plays a seemingly unsavory character however, he surprises us. How I rate: 1-3 :heart: = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 :heart: = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 :heart: = I expect you will like this too 9-10 :heart: = movies and TV shows I really love!

A super stylish, fun, charming comedy/crime thriller with a healthy dose of supernatural elements. I was honestly expecting this to be a bit more complex, it's instead an unexpectedly straightforward, lighthearted, heartwarming, style-over-substance film. Leaning towards the comedy aspect but still delivers some engaging drama and thrills. Striking cinematography and colorful visuals make this an absolute joy to watch with equally colorful characters and soundtrack that only make it more endearing. Jong-Seo delivers an incredible performance as a mysterious lead.

Oh, I'm going to watch this again. I'd say 9 out of 10 rating for me. The supernatural thing makes it sound like it's going to be hokie and ridiculous but things just flow right along. It's absolutely a really, really good movie. I think it may end up on my faves list.
