I first came across this film while reviewing Ebert's list of best movies. It is billed as a combination of a creepy guy spying on a younger woman coupled with a murder mystery. While at times these themes are certainly prevalent the real theme of the film doesn't develop until the last third of the movie (although the signs are certainly there if you pay attention).
