the movie is 30 years old now and I'm just seeing it for the first time. And honestly it was fantastic. Movies in the 80s and 90s were just DIFFERENT. It's a really fresh watch compared to most of the media junk today. The movie is written in a simple setting very down to earth, but that's the best part. It's entertaining, it's intuitive, and it's great to watch underdogs overturn the stage.

A courtroom comedy that succeeds primarily because of the fantastic central performances of Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei. It's not a pairing that I would have expected, but that only adds to the charm of their fish-out-of-water schtick. The story is well paced, with just enough of substance to supplement the comedy. Speaking of the comedy, it is plentiful and diverse, including a well balanced combination of clever dialogue, running jokes, and physical gags. As an aside, I went into this film with some very incorrect assumptions. I guess I can't see Joe Pesci without thinking _Goodfellas_, because I thought his character was going to be a mob lawyer, and that the film would be more serious, or at least that the comedy would be darker. Luckily, this didn't detract from the experience. In fact, as always, going in without knowing the true premise made things more enjoyable.

This never stops being funny no matter how many times you watch it.

I think Marisa Tomei won or was nominated for an Oscar for this... and it was well deserved. In a lot of her movies she played the role of "a pretty face" but she not only stood her ground against Joe Pesci but she actually out s More

_**Funny, with characters you care about**_

"My Cousin Vinny" was a hit when it was released in 1992. Two youths from New York are wrongly accused of murder while traveling through Alabama and one of them (Ralph Macchio) calls on his inexperienced lawyer cousin, Vinny (Joe Pesci), to defend them. More
