Was Nancy always such a Mary Sue? I mean, I haven't read the books in ages, but damn. When she first transferred schools and she was perfect in EVERY class, it rubbed me the wrong way :/ And that kid that keeps following her around, god he's the most annoying character in existence. Which, okay, he's probably MEANT to be that way, but he makes this movie sooo much worse. My favorite part was at the beginning when the priest is praying for Nancy and he says, "Protect her as she strives to solve mysteries that are beyond the abilities of local law enforcement agencies" while standing right next to the sheriff. The look he gave him, bro, I can't! That was the biggest laugh from me during this movie.

Emma Roberts is Nancy Drew in this campy, lighthearted comedy. When her father takes her to California on a work trip, super-sleuth Nancy Drew uses the opportunity to investigate the case of a Hollywood starlet that died mysteriously. Roberts is brilliantly cast and gives a wonderful performance that's irresistibly charming. And, the way the film integrates an old-fashion mystery into a modern setting is especially well-done. Nancy Drew is a delightful and enchanting film that's good wholesome fun.

A nice light hearted movie about a family friendly murder mystery. Emma Roberts is a good lead as always.

Really good watch, would watch again, and can recommend.

While I don't enjoy the aspect of shoving an addiction (actually compulsion) story into a Nancy Drew story (as she has to stop sleuthing), and I don't enjoy the relocation aspect of a world they built so well so quickly, this movie has far More
