This was our family's go-to comedy for just about all of the 80s. I've probably seen it three dozen time on VHS. To this day, we still repeat the numerous one-liners from this movie whenever we get together or catch-up on the phone.

Just showed it to the kids... I laughed my ass off, but the kids could care less. More interested in the Ipads. Guess I'll wait a few more years and try again.

I think this is one of the greatest movies of the 80s and it still holds up over 30 years later. Sadly, half of these gags wouldn't be allowed in today's overly politically correct world.

Top 3 movie in my book.

This movie was even funnier than I remember. Only downsides are the racist "of the time but still not cool" scene and the fact that this movie exists in a world where a complete idiot would think for one second he shouldn't thank the good lord every single day for being blessed with Beverly D'Angelo as a wife. I mean come on man.

This is one of those movies that i loved when i was younger so i really didn't know what to think as i watched it again. But to my surprise it is still charming, funny and sweet.

Vacation is funny, but never laugh out loud funny. However, there are scenes that stick and you find yourself chuckling at them later. Somehow the memories are better than the experience.

An iconic 80's movie that has stood the test of time as one of the best comedies ever made. Chevy Chase leads an exceptional cast with his comedic timing and improvisation as the bumbling patriarch, Clark Griswold. Beverly D'Angelo shines as Clark's loving and patient wife, Ellen, while their kids, played by Anthony Michael Hall and Dana Barron, provide plenty of laughs as they navigate the ups and downs of family vacation. The film's hilarious situations and memorable one-liners have become pop culture staples and continue to make audiences laugh decades after its release.

A brilliant comedic melting pot, mixing screenwriter John Hughes's heartfelt, vivid knowledge of life in the middle class with director Harold Ramis's biting sarcasm and National Lampoon's off-color brand of dirty humor. Chevy Chase is perfect as the everyman dad, easily his most identifiable role, who's out to show his family a good time come hell or high water on the mother of all bad road trips. The ensemble cast, speckled with cameos from several SCTV alums, elevates an already-rich premise into something even greater than the sum of its parts.

Some of the puns are a dated product of the early ‘80s, but others are nothing short of timeless, and they all hit harder than an eighteen-wheeler. It’s legendary comedy from some of the decade’s best. I was wiping tears away during most of the best bits despite already knowing them by heart. Could've done with a less abrupt, bizarre finale, but I can overlook that.

I think I've only ever seen this on cable in parts and I didn't realize this was rated R. Still pretty funny and Chevy Chase is great. The Wally World part is the best.

Classic comedy that still holds up. A lot of the humor is over-the-top, with gross-out gags, but there's still something very human about these characters and their reactions to some of the situations.
