I saw another production of this live, in London, on the evening of 29 March 2013, at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, Soho. I had never seen anything like it. The story behind the play centres around Christopher, an autistic young man, who wrote a book about his experiences, which became this play. Christopher loves numbers, and the staging of the play, even the audience chairs reflects his obsesssion with prime numbers. It was amazing to me how the play drew the audience into Christopher's mindset so skillfully that soon we began to see the world through his eyes. The staging was a mind bending technical marvel, with back walls transforming into death defying walk ups on an escalator that stole your breath, and the stage floors that become both a Tube (subway) platform and trench. I was astounded by this production which lead me to read as much as I could about the story of Christopher's life. I give it a 10 (full of wonder) out of 10. I missed the film that came of this production, and wish I could have caught it - Nicola Walker, Una Stubbs, Luke Treadaway - what a cast.
