It's more of the same as the first but not quite as good. Hopefully we do get a third sometime.

This movie was about everything that you would expect if you saw the first one: unrealistic plot, a wooden Nicholas Cage (is he the same character in every movie?) and a plot that moves along at 100 mph. All in all, it wasn't awful - it does keep you interested but there are several times where you just shake your head at the storyline.

What a great sequel as the story line is perfect. The second film jumps in a bit too quick but however having it follow the gates family history is great, as the 1st one left the audience wanting to know more about them. As they found the treasure in the first one, the second one brings in a great bad guy to try to tear down their legacy all while on a hunt for another treasure. This one had some more comedy in it which added some more ambience.

_National Treasure: Book of Secrets_ is a fantastic sequel that delivers the same exciting adventure and humor as the first movie. The film reunites the talented cast and crew to deliver another thrilling ride filled with puzzles, heists, and historical references. While the plot may not be as strong as the original, the movie still has its qualities, including stunning visuals and outstanding performances by the cast. The film's strength lies in its ability to deliver a fun and engaging experience that keeps you entertained all the way through.

The National Treasure films are purely great Cinema fun, it's not fine art by any sense of the word but it is fun. I'll keep this short and say, if you liked the first one you will love this film but just don't expect anything new.

Its basically the first film but with bigger stakes and I think that is kinda what us as National Treasure fans expected and wanted. Can't wait for the third installment :)

A dumb movie, but a genius performance by Nicolas Cage.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets ratchets up the crazy by a factor of 10. This time Ben Gates is on a quest to find the lost City of Gold in order to prove that his great grandfather wasn't a conspirator in the Abraham Lincoln assassination. Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, and Jon Voight return, and are joined by Ed Harris and Helen Mirren. Cage and Kruger easily slip back into their roles and recapture the magic that made their characters so fun in the first film. However, this plot is just too convoluted to go with. There are a lot of fun moments, but the adventure's not as interesting or entertaining as the original. The story is weak, but National Treasure: Book of Secrets manages to deliver a fun and solidly entertaining adventure.

Pretty solid follow-up. A little more cheesy than the first but a welcome addition nonetheless.

"Book of Secrets" is enjoyable but had me rolling my eyes throughout. For some reason I am able to suspend my disbelief when a 200-ft. tall radioactive dinosaur tramples the streets of Tokyo but am not for this movie. Nicolas Cage's character Ben Gates solves puzzles and deciphers codes at break neck speed. He could probably size up a Rubik's Cube in about 10 milliseconds. Somehow Gates manages to break into the Oval Office and escape from the White House swipe artifacts from the Queen's study in Buckingham Palace and kidnap the President of the United States all while eluding capture while strolling around on top of Mount Rushmore. Incredibly I still managed to like this movie. Most likely because of the fun I had trying to figure out how historical events and locations were distorted during it's runtime.

The sequel to "National Treasure" is still a fun scavenger hunt. The same strengths and weaknesses of the predecessor apply. The cast continues to be led very effectively by Nicolas Cage. Helen Mirren is also a good addition to the Gates family. Ed Harris, meanwhile, is similarly convincing as the villain as Sean Bean was before him. The whole treasure hunt, moreover, is just as appropriately bonkers as it was in the first part. The entertainment factor remains high, though perhaps not quite as strong as in the previous installment. I wouldn't have complained about more feature films in the series. It remains to be seen whether the upcoming TV series will work similarly well.
