I'd say, that this review ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1821549/reviews-5 ) is pretty accurate.

Nice bits and all, but the movie is too long and there isn't really any character development.

By the end, I found myself feeling akin to Woody's character through much of the movie - walking and driving and walking some more, but not actually getting anywhere.

Nebraska was really good. Not much happened really with its meandering plot but it was nevertheless quite enjoyable and had a really nice style.

A bit late to the party watching this but really enjoyed it. Black and White films are not usually my taste but this suited the film. A bit slow in parts but then it was predominantly about the older generation. I thought the acting generally was very good and the mixture of humour and sadness was well delivered.

I can say that I am a fan of Alexander Payne, I enjoyed all of his previous works, so Nebraska was one of my anticipated films from last year. I could have watched it some time ago but I decided to wait to see this beauty on the big screen. I was confident about to like it but it exceded all of my expectations, I loved it.

Everything about Nebraska is real, and that's the most beautiful thing that this film could have. Everything is truthful and feel real and even the actors are "real" there's no glamourous pretty faces all around, there's ordinary human beings living with real situations of life. It's believable, emotional and will make you think about certain circunstances in life.

Alexander Payne is always great with character studies and this film is not exception. If you wanna see a film where human and real feeling and matters are explored, Nebraska is the right film for you. It made me feel sad, but it also warmed my heart. It has power and it's beautiful.

The acting is first rate! Bruce Dern gives an absolutely brilliant performance! He perfectly portrays someone who suffers from dementia, a desease not easy to handle. June Squibb steals every scene she is in! She is a delight and absolutely hilarious! The rest of the cast is also amazing. There's not a single bad performance, even the smallest role.

Visually gorgeous, with a magnificient black and white cinematography and a great soundtrack.

Nebraska is a terrific film and Alexander Payne was able to do, once again, another perfect dramedy.

I don't know about you, but I love a film that in one fell swoop can make me laugh and cry. Nebraska does it in spades. Understated, yes. Underwhelming, no.

I enjoyed the quirkiness of this film June Squibb/Kate Grant was a real trip!

Couldn't help but wonder if the lead character's name, Woody Grant, was a play on the artist Grant Wood. The artist who painted the iconic painting, 'American Gothic.'

Meditations on the core of humanity and the importance of direction late in life, all wrapped up in a slow-moving road trip picture. Sharp, gorgeous black-and-white cinematography does a masterful job of driving home the moral gray areas of its cast, while also reinforcing the bleak, desolate landscapes of the American plains in winter.

Bruce Dern is hauntingly effective as the desperate lead character, teetering on the verge of dementia while his family deals in their own ways, but it's Jane Squibb who steals the scenery. Her turn as the family's stodgy, no-nonsense, firecracker of a matron is a real standout, deliciously funny in a picture that sorely needs that kind of relief. The remainder of the cast doesn't fare so well, with several reciting their lines so flatly that they might be reading straight from cue cards.

It's a depressing bit of truth, one that seems to enjoy lingering in the moment, but generally moves along smoothly enough. An uneven patch near the end of the second act is the only bit that seems to drag. Poignant and melancholy, but also rich and familiar - I'd have liked a bit more activity, but that's simply not its style.

Another fantastic character study. Bruce Dern was simply amazing in this film, as was the rest of the cast. I loved every minute of it. The end was a fascinating commentary on how we view others.

This movie could easily be PG-13 right?! One of the things on my mind after watching. Anyways, it gets a solid 9/10 from me.

It wasn't great. Very film-school level script. Most performances were fairly poor except Bruce Dern (who was pretty fantastic). The excuse for it being black and white is one that's so vague it could honestly be applied 90% of films anyway. I wasn't impressed.

This is an absolutely perfect drama, the characters are human, they mess with: pain, sadness, moments, sympathy, difficulties. all of them without exception are very charismatic. this film showed me a time to family meet and spend time together: go to the tavern together, converse, back in childhood and mainly lose the fear. and the other is that society is able to do everything for money. society is able to feed a rumor only for the illusion to get rich easily without get a job.
