Where others say it was a movie about nothing at all, I see a big strength to this movie. Let's compare it to Pineapple Express. Both are movies about two stoner best friends. But Pineapple express on its desire to have a plot, has a very meh dumb plot that ends up the movie being almost two hours. Two hours that serve only as a medium to tell jokes and sketches. Nothing wrong with that, that's how comedy movies work. But I thank Augustine Frizzell for making a much shorter movie. Bless her for not trying to find a complex story and making a short movie. We need more short movies!! God bless short movies and I wish there were more.

In fact, this could have easily been 10 or 5 min shorter by giving the male characters less time, you can tell their scenes were kinda added, as this movie was running dangerously close to being considered a featurette . I understand selling a movie less than 60 minutes has been historically difficult, but with the streaming era I hope we start seeing more short movies. I thank short movies.

On the strength of its two leads, I wanted to like this film. They're just _fun_ to watch, and their relationship feels real.

Some _way_ over-the-top moments dragged it down for me, though. Plus I wasn't a fan of any of the soundtrack choices—and most importantly, there's [spoiler]no payoff[/spoiler] at the end. ([spoiler]The dream sequence could have at least been script-accurate and had Angela wearing the bikini she said she'd buy day-one, couldn't it?[/spoiler])

It's clearly not a _bad_ film. _Never Goin' Back_ snagged some award nominations at film festivals, and even managed a couple wins. Mostly, I wish the title didn't give away so much. Put it together with the first scene and you already know where things are headed.

This dosen't have your typical movie elements with twists and turns or antagonists, it's just a story between best friends played by Maia Mitchell and Camila Morrone who have great chemistry.

I mean, like others said, it's literally about nothing at all, the two leads spend half of the movie in their underwear so that's fun, but yeaaah, that's about it. It's really a waste of time in my opinion, I'm never goin' back to watch this again!
