Loved the soundtrack of this movie also thought the chemistry between the actors was really good. Wesley Snipes usually doenst play the villain but he played Nino Brown with a fierceness and had lots of emotional force. Lastly loved the supporting character of Pookie played by Chris Rock in my opinion was his best acted role of his career.

One of the most stupid movies I have ever seen! Black drug lords are battling the Italian Mafia and the Police in New York City to establish a new drug cartel. The actors' performances are lousy, the plot seen already a hundred times and the lines so fucking bad that one wants to tear out one's hair (or at least fast-forward the movie). The ONLY good scene is the last one where Nino lies dead on the floor and the appeal to fight drugs and especially drug dealers as hard as possible is shown: "[...] If we don't confront the problem realistically -- without empty slogans and promises -- the drugs will continue to destroy [... the] country".

Ignore the previous poster...brilliant film. Propa classic, ok maybe not Oscar winning performances but it's a good lil story with some great characters.

New Jack City is convoluted, contrived, and heavy-handed, ending with a caption warning us to “confront the [drug] problem realistically, without empty slogans and promises”. Well, the characters in the movie certainly eschew empty slogans in favor of some of the most memorable catchphrases ever More
