I was interested in the concept as soon as I saw the plot and after having seen it I have mixed feelings.

Script predictable at times, at times a little cheap, at times surprisingly poignant which leads to some overplayed moments as well as some very introspective ones - the potential is clearly there, as shown by specific scenes (the after bar one as well as the second after bar one, ).
In the first half it shows some confused mixture between buddy comedy, horror and an underlying philosophical theme which leaves an aftertaste of not having a clear identity. The soundtrack fractures the identity of the movie furthermore, not well knowing if being fast-paced and anxiety causing as a thriller or giving it another tone (which is actually what most of the flick is about). Ample use of fast cuts - which imho could have been more limited - as well as too many unnecessary screaming moments and random secondary characters who lack depth and are mostly use to take out of the main duo some other aspect of their personality. And Karen Gillan has too cheerful a tone and set of expressions here to play what would be a controversial character.

Cinematography is extremely good at times with some beautiful shots, and more cohesion is found in the second part

The actors have good chemistry and emotional depth but the whole effort feels... incomplete. I would have appreciated a lengthier exploring of the free will, death and personal demons topics through the interactions between them, which often felt left hanging instead.

This one doesn't belong to the bad movies list tho, as I have read many negative opinions around - it's worth an afterthought
