Holds up well over the years! Zombie inducing maggots from beyond take on a college campus and only the geek patrol can fight them with the help of an over-the-hill police officer that answers the phone better than any character prior or since. Thrill me!

It's impressive how many horror tropes are combined into the compact 90 minute run time of Night of the Creeps. If I mention that there are aliens that release a creature that turns people into zombies, an axe murderer, a 27-year time jump, and college students having to deal with it all with the help of a police officer who is a loose cannon and shares a little too much then you'd be forgiven to think that Night of the Creeps wouldn't work. Yet it does! It all comes together for a final act that is chaotic and bizarre that was a lot of fun.

It’s Miller Time!
This is a great flick to sit back have a few drinks and just enjoy. Does it make any sense, no not really but is it a good time, yes very much so.

Quintessential horror, they really don't make them even remotely close to this anymore.
Thrill me.

Getting into the traditional evening re-watches for my 31 Days Of Horror. Can't count the number times I've seen it.

An alien jettisons an experimental test tube from its spaceship. It lands on Earth in the form of a meteor, releasing slugs that attack a college campus.

Sure, its a B-Movie, but it's a good B-Movie. A cross-section of Horror, Comedy and Science Fiction, "Night of the Creeps" stars Tom Atkins as Detective Cameron. He's cynical and impatient, but he's good at what he does. Atkins wise-cracks and complains his way through this entire movie and it's probably my favorite role that he's played.

The story waivers a bit from traditional zombie flicks. It's fun to watch and some of the kills are clever. The effects aren't great but they're effective and sometime a little gross. Chris, J.C. and Cynthia are the other main characters and they gradually endear themselves.

There's nothing too different about "...Creeps", but it looks good, there's some good gross-outs and it's funny. It accomplishes what it set out to do.

Thrill me. A cult ‘80 horror-comedy, Night of the Creeps is a cheesy B-movie that mishmashes several different types of sci-fi and horror. The story follows two college friends who unwittingly release an alien bug that turns people into zombies when a fraternity prank goes wrong. The script is all over the place with aliens, ax wielding maniacs, and zombies. And, most of the cast is stuck playing one-dimensional character stereotypes; though Tom Atkins has kind of a fun role as a cop on the edge and brings a certain charisma to the film. Also, the make-up effects and prosthetics for the zombies are pretty good and look quite ghoulish. Plus, the comedy and satire is well-done, delivering some entertaining laughs. But Night of the Creeps takes on more than it can handle, and ends up being a crazy mess.

Most of the characters in Night of the Creeps are named after well-known horror movie directors. Romero, Hooper, Cameron, and Cronenberg are all represented. So you can tell right away that Fred Dekker has a penchant for the genre. This B-movie covers a wide range of subgenres, including zombies, aliens, and slasher. However, the film doesn't really take itself seriously. Instead, numerous clichés are humorously tackled. This flick isn't exactly high quality, aside from a few good gore effects, but it's definitely sympathetic throughout. As a result, some flaws are easy to forgive. Night of the Creeps has earned its cult status without a doubt.

"Screaming like, Banshees!!"

'Night of the Creeps' is a silly zombie comedy/horror movie that went under people's radar for nearly 30 years. The effects are good and there's plenty of gore for horror fans to enjoy.

Over the years I wasn't familiar with the movie, but I was familiar with the poster as I have seen it everywhere. And I do mean everywhere, on different movie related website and even on a shelf of an old Blockbuster. Now finally I got to see what the poster, that interested me for years, had to offer.

A bittersweet homage to 1950s Sci-Fi horror and George Romero’s zombie craze with a little bit of 1980s slasher movies throw into the mix!

Very much of its time but not the worst of its kind. Its a fairly fun 80s flick that could have benefitted from a stronger story.

Night of the Creeps is the funniest film I've seen so far this Hooptober! Love the names of the characters, love the way Tom Atkins steals the show, love the story, the worms, the way Cynthia breaks up with Brad not knowing he's a wormified zombie, the one-liners, the ending, yes, Night of the Creeps is one hell of a film!

It is said these kind of films aren't made that much, the perfect blend of humor and horror. It is the best combination of genres in my eyes.

Anyway, if you haven't seen Night of the Creeps yet, be sure to check it out!

Night of the Creeps is a fantastic movie to watch in many different situations: with friends, at a sleepover, in the middle of the night, in the middle of the day, and so many more.

It's an easy to watch flick, and it contains the right balance of horror elements, gore, campiness, humor, and absurdity to make each viewing as enjoyable as the last. It's got a touch of body-stealing aliens, a touch of zombies, a touch of traditional serial killer, all mixed with all the fun that can come from being placed in a sorority house.

Sure, it's not downright frightening, and it's not necessarily an utterly funny movie like a comedy, but the balance it strikes between the two is where the beauty shines through.
