I liked it, but the book is much better

Little to do with Norway and a lot to do with wood, if you know what I mean. Anyway I fell asleep.

It's a decent movie but I don't think you'd be able to make sense of it without having read the book. It was too rushed and missed a few key points.

Lackluster adaptation to a modern classic.
I tried dissociating the film from the book, but even then, it felt pretty off-paced and lacking overall.

i wish i didn't waste my time with this one, i wish i'd listen to the reviews and ratings of movies at least Once, sadly it's not something i do, i still wanted to give it a chance; if i could turn back time to win back the two hours i lost on this movie adaptation i would, without hesitation

so many events that were in the book were completely cut out of the movie, like the rooftop scene with Midori, which was probably one of my favorite parts of the book, and the guitar funeral they had towards the end of the movie, and the fisherman that came around to talk to Watanabe? non-existent, playing pool with Hatsumi? nah

the movie adaptation honestly had so much, sooo much potential but they just went ahead and threw it completely out, just like they did with any type of story / back story related to Reiko

im sad :(
