Vaudeville dates back to the 1860s, and _Notre Dame_ is trying to take it all the way back.

_Notre Dame_ is the story of a talented woman who is too scatter-brained and female to accomplish anything. Fortunately, she is surrounded by incompetent males, idiot exes and clever old flames who can manipulate her into doing what they want so that she doesn't die from her own stupidity. :person_facepalming_tone3:

The only entertaining aspect is the film is trying to find what's the most offensive about it. Is it the sexism? The ridiculous story? The pathetic attempt at humor? (Seriously, a sad man can't be understood because he talking with a croissant in his mouth and the whole cinema erupts in laughter?)

The only saving grace are the (very) odd moments of surrealism meant to pass for whimsy yet that only serve as a brief respite from the indignity. What can I say? Some movies are made to be walked out on...
