What a wonderful movie! I can't call myelf an expert in Brazilian cinema, because the total movies i've seen from Brazil I can count them with my fingers, but this one is definetely my favorite one. And one of my favorite Latino American movies.

This movie represents all I love about movies. Not only the movie itself, but the plot. It's an ode to cinema. And a very beautiful one. By the end of the film is was crying on happiness, and considering today was a bad day on my personal life, that's an amazing accomplishment. But after allm that's why I love movies: for the feelings they create on me.

I mean, the beginning it's odd. Not bad, not at all. But the moment you hear that the protagonist name it's Marlombrando (I MEAN!!! HIS NAME IS MARLOMBRANDO!!!) you alredy know it. You can throw a certain parallelism between this movie and Cinema Paradiso. Both are beautiful odes to cinema. Both are love letters to cinema that nevertheless, are amazing movies itself. I believe Carvalho knew there was a certain "similirity" because there is even a poster of Cinema Paradiso around in the film. But I think the only real parallelism it's about the passion of the people behind teathers (can't be a general passion, but from those who feel it). And thta's something beautiful and exciting thing to see to anybody who loves films, I believe.

Another beautiful thing it's the photography. Each frame it's amazing. The colors, lighting. Damn, it's amazing. And so it is the rest of the aspects of the film such as direction, writing, acting. You name it.

It's not at all what I expected, having read only the overview from Netflix, but it was a beautiful surprise. I'm amazed I never heard anything from it before. I was expecting a little of an "arthouse" slow movie or something kinda depressing. I know, but I said I was sad, lol. But instead I got a beautiful and very warm movie. This just warmed my heart and fill it with happiness. This is why I love movies. The visions of the movie about cinema, and the movie itself. I don't have real words to describe what an amazing movie it is.
