**The Good**:

+ The film doesn’t waste time on reintroducing the characters from the first film along with their new lines – we get to the main story very quickly.
+ The comedy is even sharper in _Ocean’s 12_ compared to the previous film.
+ I like it how the scriptwriters managed to make the stakes in the sequel both higher and more personal when compared to _Ocean’s 11_. It improves on the first film while still staying connected to it.
+ The only interesting part comes towards the end, when **Julia Roberts** plays herself, **Bruce Willis** enters and the entire operation takes a drastic turn.

**The Bad**:

- The music is still too loud and hopelessly annoying.
- _Ocean’s 12_ lacks much of the nice natural flow present in the first film. The sequel is tardier, more bogged down and suffers from an uneven tempo.
- The story progression really doesn’t work. Most of the movie is an overly stretched out set-up and it never shifts into a high gear when it gets to the big bucks.
- The downscaled atmosphere means less excitement and tension – so it never becomes as interesting or compelling as _Ocean’s 11_.
- The messy editing of the era is also present here. It brings realism to some scenes but makes the film as a whole rather confusing to follow.
- The plot is all over the place. It feels like the movie never knows quite what it wants to be or do and it never pulls in the audience like the first film does.
- The heist itself is poorly executed, impossible to follow and contains no hooks to keep you watching to the end.
- The twist at the end doesn’t work, since there is no real reason it should have happened in the first place.

**Verdict**:

Rather than improving on the first film, _Ocean’s 12_ takes a huge step backwards and presents audiences with a boring, messy and uncompelling heist that doesn’t make any sense at all.

There are moments where "Ocean's Twelve" is even slicker and wittier than "Ocean's Eleven", but as a whole film, it's a bit too unbalanced in its pacing and way too messy in its plot. Suspension of disbelief is mandatory in this kind of film, but this time they definitely went a bit too far. It's like they purposely made it confusing to the point that you are forced to accept things as they are without questioning. There are the mandatory twists and reveals to change your perception of the events, but the payoff is minimum as you are never any hints on what is going on.

"Ocean's Eleven" was more of an ensemble piece, with each gang member having his own little role in the plan. This time the focus is only on the main actors, with more than half of the team left hanging there with no reason to exist. It would have worked better if they didn't try to include all characters from the previous film at all costs.

Overall, it's a rather fun film with a good cast, but while the plot tries to be as convoluted as possible, the most straightforward and relaxed bits end up being the most entertaining. The unpopular meta-joke that sees Julia Roberts' character pretending to be Julia Roberts might have been a lame idea, but honestly, I thought Bruce Willis' cameo made it unexpectedly fun to watch (I keep saying he is born to do comedies).

Convoluted Cack!

Ocean's 11 was a slick movie, ultra cool and up there with the best as regards superior remakes. Ocean's Twelve is a waste, a film coasting on star appeal, a picture desperately trying to cram as much into its screenplay for fear of failing.

The plot shoots off in a number of directions, yet incredibly it still wastes most of the cast who have all been held over from Ocean's 11. This time Catherine Zeta-Jones joins in for some weighty dressage and Vincent Cassel is along as some sort of break-dancing Raffles dude. There's the odd in-joke that works, while the by-ply between the principal players (Clooney/Pitt/Damon) holds a modicum of entertainment value. However, once the dust settles on the myriad of schemes and scrapes, you are left with a sequel of a remake that is almost everything the other film was not. Boo. 4/10

No it's not good. I guess a lot of people like it, a lot of people hate it... and I fall into the hate it camp.

The problem is the plot, as so many others have no doubt pointed out. It makes sense on the surface level... and is so absolutely surface that when they try to add a twist or two it come across as an insult to the viewers.

It is one of those films where the entire responsibility is left on the writers, the plot just doesn't work for an Ocean's movie. The twists don't work. They tried to re-capture the magic of the first one, and, although the 3rd was able to do it well enough, 12 fell flat.

So, watch it to be a completionist and then forget it was ever made.

Good watch, could watch again, and can recommend, at least for fans of heist movies.

This is a refreshing twist on heist movies, actually a combination of twists: payback revenge and criminal vs criminal. This qualifies alternative motive to the crimes and because of the high stakes of competing thieves, we certainly get a complex heist.

The problem with this movie is that Benedict's move against them is the most interesting part, but is relegated to the beginning of the movie. Most of the thief vs thief action is obscured to hide information from the audience, causing the movie to explain and even re-explain things that have, are, or will happen in the movie which, honestly, just pads the run time without making the movie more entertaining.

Without a doubt, the movie is still good, but not nearly as good as the first in the series.
