Ronson and Django both arrive in town. Ronson is the new Sherrif, seeking to provide justice -and Django is...Django, looking for revenge against a couple of bad guys who happen to be terrorizing the town. Willer the a thug, the Sanchez the bandit. Soon, Sherrif Ronson and Django are both after the same bad guys.

I would not say Ronson and Django are friends. But they at least don't kill each other, and share a common enemy. They do have one or two non-lethal Ronson/Django fights. Eventually, Ronson reveals that he is "known as Sartana," thereby rationalizing the title of the film.
