It is 300 years into the future. Earth's environment had been devastated by mankind's own foolish plans and humankind is beleaguered by the sentient forests which they have awoken. Very cool concept. The story felt rushed though, and the second half of the movie is barely making sense because of this. But otherwise a good movie. I kept thinking that it would have been better as a mini series or something like that.
