I’m not going to be coy or clever here, Out of Sight is one of my favourite films.

Soderburgh spins the tale so perfectly, carefully balancing out tension and comedy. Everyone is working towards a big heist, but the real driving force behind the whole thing is a lust-fuelled forbidden romance.

Clooney and Lopez don’t just have chemistry, they set the screen ablaze. It could be a side-show in any other film but here the sheer force of attraction between the two is what steals the show. Out of Sight has one of the most erotic on-screen relationships in movie history, and it feels like it wasn’t even trying.

A true modern masterpiece.

The perfect movie. This one has it all. Elmore Leonard does what he does, but with Soderbergh at the helm and Clooney and Lopez at their best this one is tough to beat. The dialogue is crisp, the humor is clever, the style suave and the chemistry between the “bandit and the cop” is magical. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time.

A pinnacle of acting craft. Everyone has brought their A-game to the roles, no matter how small. The pacing of the plot propels the film forward perfectly, allowing the romance aspect to evolve naturally. Out Of Sight is a movie that easily bears repeated viewing.

Clooney really runs with the suave bad boy image in this film, and no surprises that the role suits him. Can't get enough of this witty, sexy film.

This was just an OK. I had some trouble following the plot, if that tells you anything. 6.5/10.

Loved that scene when Clooney and Lopez were talking and it was night and it was snowing outside. That was magic!

Even if I hadn't seen this once before I would have known how this movie would go. It is to obvious what will happen. Personally I think there is too much talking which slows everything down. And while Clooney can pretty much play anything and be convincing J-Lo was a dissapointment. I didn't buy the US-Marshal act. She's an extremly attractive woman and that's why she's casted. In any case, more of a romance than anything else and not a good one from where I stand.

Le duo Clooney/Lopez fonctionne vraiment bien. Une gentille comédie policière bien faite.

Ehhhhhhhhh, I just couldn’t quite buy it. We have to buy in to the central romance here, but that initial kidnapping/trunk sequence was just so bizarre and unconvincing I couldn’t get into the rest of the movie. Especially given the pains the movie takes to show how capable and committed the Lopez character is in the rest of her life. Clooney’s charming, of course, but…it didn’t do it for me. Soderbergh seems to be working out a lot of tricks and tics that he would put to much better use in Ocean’s Eleven, and there were a few bits that felt unnecessarily crass and mean-spirited. Disappointed, I expected better.
