Paid In Full deserves a lot more credit than it gets and often gets overshadowed by other films in this genre of Hood Crime films, the story revolves around a young man who has nothing but is surrounded by others who have the money to flex but unfortunately the way they got it isn't the honest or legal way and after he meets a Columbian drug dealer he starts to become the new heavy hitter though he doesn't fit in this world of Drug Crimes. What I love about this film is it shows that every action has a consequence and in the circumstance of this movie it doesn't glorify it as usually it is bad and in some part rather sad as you start to care about these characters and their families/friends.

The reason this film is so great is down to the great cast who pull of this rather serious story perfectly with Wood Harris (Ace) giving a really down to earth performance, Mekhi Phifer (Mitch) showing you the man behind the fronting and Cam'ron (Rico) actually turning in a great performance showing what happens to someone when the power gets to their head. Now it has got its flaws as in some parts you'll find they will brush past someone getting killed and it might annoy you a bit, but then it also shows that unfortunately, this is an everyday occurrence in this world.

You can see the love of cinema in this film as well as it pays homage to films like Scarface and other gangster flicks, I watched this film years ago and having watched it again recently I have to say it still holds up and is almost on par with films like Menace II Society and Boyz n the Hood. Give this one a watch if my review seems like it described something up your alley if not then give it a skip but I promise if you do choose to watch it I think you will have a good time.
