In my experience, I either really like a Solondz movie or it's a miss. This is a miss for me. For me, Solandz shines with dark themes but only when he mixes it with unique humour and good scene ideas. If you take away those elements you're left with a drawn out drama attempting to be gritty merely on subject matter. The dialogue isn't witty or interesting. It's even pretty tedious at times. The characters are uninteresting... a bunch of girls having sex. You can find that story told in most parts of the UK and it's not interesting to here about.
The acting was overall, terrible. I couldn't even watch the whole movie. I did skip to the end to hear the cheesiest song I've heard in a while. It seems the work of a writer who has stopped being his own biggest critic spin terms of dialogue, character and conventional narrative. Maybe he believes everything he touches turns to gold? I have no idea what happened.
