Still need to process what I just watched... first half was enjoyable, second half was really rough! Didn't expect such a change in atmopshere. Surely this movie gives one something to think about e.g. who is the parasite? On the surface, the poor look as if they are the parasites. However, the rich were benefitting from their service, more of a symbiotic relationship. The rich took the work of the poor to the point it felt it was entitled. Come when we want. We pay you extra. Respect. Cross the line. Who crossed the line? At first it seems like the poor family has crossed the line but at the birthday party it has really revealed it.... Despite the
the fact that "Jessica" was stabbed and Kims wife was desperately fighting against the maniac, Mr. Park only cares for his unconscious son who would "probably" die in the next 15 min. Sure, bringing his unharmed son to hospital is more important than to rescue an blood stained girl who is at the edge of death
. That's also
the reason why Kim has stabbed him; then when his daughter got stabbed, none of them cared. Like fuck you, lets see what you'll do if you got stabbed instead
. At this point it is hard to decide which family to like and to dislike.
Speaking of a different topic: The movie protrayed the discrepancy between poor and rich very well e.g. the rain scene. The rich love the rain because it cleaned the filth and brightened the day. While it destroyed the lives of the poor. Parasites don’t often know they harm the host.
I think the movie did portray the rich as gullible, simple and naive. As the wife said:" They are not rich AND nice. They are nice BECAUSE they are rich"
