Persuasion

This feels like it's from the 90s, not the 2000s - somehow cheaply made and that grey filter over everything? Plus again one of those Austen versions where all the supposed handsome men aren't particularly so. And then... I know Anne isn't supposed to be pretty in the beginning, but she supposedly has a second bloom and yet in this she always looks like she hasn't washed her hair in weeks and her head keeps bopping up and down a little bit all the time. It's extremely weird. And last but not least, what makes Jane Austen interesting is not the relatively basic story, but the well-written dialogue, character development, and most importantly wit, all of which was cut down to make a movie barely 1 1/2 hours long which, while covering all the majorly plot points, feels flat and ultimately without substance.
