One of the classics. While it may not be amazing, it is a rather fun watch.

It's been quite a while since the last time I took this particular film off the shelf, but since I watched the fun remake and its rather underwhelming sequel today, I thought I'd take on the original Piranha as well.

…and it's just as fun as I remember!!

The story is simple, but well told. The acting is good, and we got some rather inventive practical effects, and even though I've seen this a dozen times before, it still manages to thrill.

I really like this little gem of a “nature gone berserk” movie, and it's well worth the time spent watching it. Every time!

Love this movie. Another CLASSIC Dante. But I will say this...the new Corman commentary on the 2019 scream factory steel book is a major disappointment. Don’t call it a commentary if it’s just an audio interview with nothing to do with what was happening on screen!!! A real bust.

Another of the late 70s animal horror movies (i.e. Grizzly) trying to capitalize on Jaw’s success. Even has the economic interest that conflicts with common sense safety precautions. Not bad though but no Jaws.

This is classic horror. Drunks, half-naked teeangers, greedy real estate people, bad redneck cops, a mad scientist and genetically modified killer fish. Do you even care about the plot at this point?! It's actually pretty good too. I watch this at least once a year!

One of the best of the bunch of The Jaws ripoffs. Dante's signature humor makes this schlocky outting a lot of fun.

_Citizen Kane_ it's not, but it is campy fun. Loved the scene with the raft.

Sure, it's built on Jaws success but this deserves to be in every top horror film list of the period though it's often forgotten.

>"People eat fish, Grogan. Fish don't eat people."

This is a fun creature feature that I was not expecting to enjoy. I had seen the remakes from the 2000's and they are so different from this. Even before Gremlins, Joe Dante knew how to captivate the audience while the subject matter was silly.
