Dead Man's Chest is a great second installment in Disney's Pirates saga. I never understood all the not so favorable reviews.

This movie seems more like a build up to the upcoming movies in this series. It's interesting but to rate this movie on it's own merit, I would give it an average rating.
I like the direction the story is headed, but this movie has very less to offer on its own. Although watching this movie makes me excited about what's to come. This part is the key to understanding the entire story I guess. Hope the next parts keep up to the expectation I have from this franchise.

I don´t know, maybe it´s the whole pirate thing that I can´t relate to but I don´t get into this franchise.

Again, like the first, it´s a really well made movie for the time. But it has the same flaws from where I stand. Not a great story (althought this might change in context with the next parts). And I must say the Jack Sparrow act wears itself out rather fast - I find it irritating already.

This is so fun!! I really enjoyed every moment of it, Johnny Depp IS Jack Sparrow and Jack Sparrow IS Johnny Depp. Watch this!! **10/10**

As put by Filmento, the Infinity War of 2006. Simply stunning film that I loved time and time again as a kid, and still brings a smile to my face every time I watch it. Shoutout to the unreal CGI for its time. Fantastic perfomances from all. Jack Sparrow just iconic.

More of the same but higher budget. Not much to say... It's amazing.

Every 45 minutes or so, one character will tell another character everything that's going on in the movie up to that point, in case anyone's gotten lost lol

I just rewatched this again last time! I remember having fun seeing it when I was kid. I still enjoyed it. Pirates of the Caribbean, especially the first two movies, will always be fun and entertaining for me :heart:

Originally, I was a bit harsher on this sequel, but I liked it a bit better this go around. It is long, not as tight as the original, but still a generally fun adventure with Captain Jack Sparrow!

Nice characterizations, but the action and the story seem to have settled down a bit.

Just as brilliant as the first.

Unless you are living in a snow bank in Antarctica you have a very good idea of what to expect from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series. There's swashbuckling, treasure hunting, and nasty pirates galore. There's also a very funny Johnny Depp. However, this movie will from this day forward be addressed by me as the "movie with no ending". Movies really shouldn't have long story arcs. I felt entirely ripped off by the lack of a conclusion.

Not sure if it is because I just got a brand new tv, but the CGI in this film is so crisp. I fell in love with creature design and look of the characters in this. It is hard to beat the first one, but this is still a very entertaining and fun film.

So bad. A whole lot of nothing happening and then the movie ends. This is when I gave up on Pirates. This is what happens when you make lightning strike twice.

Honestly almost as good as the original

While the movie was still enjoyable, this was a major step in the wrong direction for the series. The gaping plot holes and the non-existent chemistry between Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley were glaring. The two lovers who were separated right before their wedding and had been apart for quite some time reunite and show all the passion of a wet noodle. The kiss between Elizabeth and Jack showed more energy than the two love birds ever did. The cannibal island was a blatant ripoff of C3PO and the Ewoks(and that's not a good thing). The entire story line of the sequence paralleled Endor. I did like the character of Davy Jones and his special effects were well done. Would have liked to see a little more development of how he and Jack had crossed paths thirteen years ago, but hopefully that will be included in the third installment which you know is coming since the ending slapped you in the face with it, really liked the hard ending.

Its not as fun as the first movie and its runtime stretches into ridiculous territory Dead Man's Chest is a perfect example of the "good, but not as good" sequels we get regularly in Hollywood. It builds on the pirate mythology but the story and characters just aren't as fun as they were the first time around.

There are some great lines, the same fun characters, an inventive and fun story, and some brilliantly staged action sequences.

Not as good as the first part because it is a little bit too much, a little "over the edge" and some jokes are forced. But still a very good, fun & enjoyable movie.
