An ambitious but undeniably flawed supernatural horror effort that brings unique vision but brought down by incredibly silly scares. Apparently, this is the first ever full-feature Hungarian horror film and I'd say this was an entertaining watch. The gorgeous setting is utilized really well, and parts of this film are very successful, especially when it's not trying to scare you. An eerie mood surrounds the characters successfully and the deliberately cold tone is a good fit for the story. I was captivated by the film because how ambitious it was, and there's that feeling that something major's going to happen afterward. What really caught me off guard is the scare attempts are so silly and ridiculous to a point they become endearing. It's almost like they don't belong in this film. I laugh at most of them, some even left me in tears because I was laughing so much. While I mostly had a great time with it, it honestly does not need to be almost 2 hours long. But then the absolute batshit crazy third act kind of makes up for it all. Despite all of its silliness, it's quite effective in its consistent capture of an alluring, eerie visual tone.
