Maynard, a beloved local businessman is mistaken for the legendary Bigfoot during an inebriated romp through town in a makeshift gorilla costume. The sightings set off an international Bigfoot media spectacle and a windfall of tourism dollars for a simple American town hit by hard times. When Brock Masterson, reality TV’s “Monster Hunter,” arrives to hunt the beast, Maynard agonizes over whether to come clean, destroying the rebirth of his beloved town, or perpetuate the inadvertent hoax.

Tom Lennon is always hilarious, Ian McShane too. But oof oof oof this movie is not good. Honestly I think whoever made that awful poster deserves an award because that's the only reason I watched it. It looked terrible. Unfortunately it's just bland, dumb and about 10 years behind on Furry jokes. Snooze fest. Hard pass.

Pottersville is a strange and clichéd holiday film. After discovering that his wife is having an affair, Maynard Greiger goes on a drunken tear dressed up in a Halloween costume and is mistaken for Bigfoot, which at first proves to be a boom for tourism for the town but soon draws the wrong kind of attention from hunters and exploitation television. Starring Michael Shannon, Judy Greer, Ron Perlman, Christina Hendricks, and Ian McShane, the film has a great cast; though their performances are pretty weak. Also, the plot is ridiculous and the jokes are rather lame. But worse than any of that is the score, which is incredibly heavy-handed. Trying to force some Christmas magic, Pottersville just doesn’t work.

A down on its luck mining town finds a new life when locals begin seeing a bigfoot. Before long, there are tourists in town, cash registers ringing, and a nationally syndicated television show scouring the woods for a sasquatch. It's a Christmas miracle - or is it?

heart warming and satisfying. The kind of movie that promises you from the onset that the guy is going to get the girl and everyone is going to live happily ever after.

You have that promise walking in to it...so giving the film a negative review because it makes good on the promise is sort of... More
