Like a CSI rerun, there's nothing new but at least it's not boring.

A police procedural that's less enthralling than any random cop show you'll find on network TV.

[The most interesting aspect of this documentary is that it's a kind of prequel to So Help Me God (Ni judge, ni soumises), a fascinating documentary -- by the same team as this film -- that followed the work of a quirky and vaguely racist judge in the later years of her career. Poulet Frites, filmed long before So Help Me God yet released just this year, includes that same judge at the beginning of her career, when she was still mostly normal and routine... like this film.]

[FICX'21] A true crime movie that is more honest than any other. A sequel to "So help me God" (2017) that now focuses not on the judicial system, but on the police investigation. The B/W image shows a society that is entangled in the representation of the good and the bad, but in which there are only victims who seem guilty, and guilty who seem victims. At the same time it pays tribute to the great French polar.
