Loved the "A child is listening" speech...great movie

This was a really great film. Sigourney Weaver was terrific as usual but the whole cast is great. It's a pity it was made by Lifetime because it was diminished by a slightly saccharine feel in places and occasional heavy-handed use of music. There were also some rather abrupt cuts, which I guess reflected where some of the advert breaks would have been.

Still, it was a really good film and an emotional climax. Poignant due to it being based on a real person's story. I've also just read up about this film having just finished watching it and found out that Mary Griffith died at the start of this year aged 85, adding an extra layer of sadness.

The fact that the Republican Party's 2020 platform includes the repeal of same-sex marriage means the struggle for acceptance endures even though this film is set nearly 40 years ago.

Scary movie. It shows the length that brainwashing do to our culture.
Typical of a tv-movie it has some really good actors carrying the movie along with worse acting from the rest. But an important message, well performed and told - this is a good movie. Along with the danish drama "Worlds Apart" from Jehova's witness perspective this is a must-see.

this is so perfect, i cried about a hundred times

this is definitely one of those movies that, once seen, can't and won't ever be forgotten. very emotional, very touching and a wake-up call for all strict christians, that religion leaves a whole lot of room for interpretation.

Great movie with very emotional moments!!! I love it and I will remember it for ever...
