Starts of with a vibe of Kiyoshi Kurosawa, slow and with a supernatural existential dread of sorts, but evolves into something else. Something a little less polished and a lot more Russian, obviously. Feels sometimes like it is a snapshot of the transitory state to a post-Soviet era. Plenty of technical flaws but makes up for a lot of them by flow of strange and unexpected turns. Maybe it is less strange for someone familiar with a Russian framework, I don't know. I feel like the are narrative motifs and possibly political allegorical notes that are passing me by. I enjoyed it, though maybe on a different plane than originally intended.
