SciFi B Movie based on a short of the same name. The first 30 minutes whipped me up into a frenzy. The visuals and slow pace were perfect. From then on it declined a bit, mainly due to the clunky script, weak characters and use of a few tropes (tripping over a branch in a forest while being pursued etc). The third act rescued it slightly, as did the gorgeous cinematography, which must have been on a limited budget, so fair play to the film-makers for producing something so interesting looking. Sophie Thatcher was fine as the lead, and I would have liked to see more of Jay Duplass.

Overall, a fine effort, just lacking in a bit of invention.

Nice gritty optics, but the plot is unbelievably boring.

_Prospect_ is a hidden gem in the world of sci-fi cinema. From the opening scene, it draws you into its futuristic world with its atmospheric and well-crafted visuals. The attention to detail in the production design and practical effects adds authenticity to the alien landscape, making it feel both otherworldly and believable. Pascal and the rest of the cast delivers solid performances, adding depth to the film's rich and diverse characters. _Prospect_ skillfully avoids many of the sci-fi clichés and instead offers a refreshing and original story that keeps you guessing until the very end. The film's measured pace allows for a gradual immersion into its world, culminating in a gripping climax.

I deeply appreciated the cinematography, gfx, scenery and production value, considering the budget. I never think that these money things make a movie. The actors are fine and the story of the world is acceptable.
However, the story never actually did an impact on me and when the movie ended i didn't feel like i took anything of it with me. Kind'a feels not-memorable..
And I really hoped to enjoy it more than I did!

Recommended to Sci Fi fans who like it different.

The soudtrack is 10/10, and the angry lady with the sci fi boom box made this worth the watch. The story overall was creative, but too slow and too simple for a movie. This would've made an entertaining mini series if they carried it further.

I enjoyed this, though it did bug me how unphased Cee seemed to be over her father's death. He dies, and then she literally just runs back to their ship and chills out listening to music. It felt as though she was devoid of most emotions. Maybe that's what they were going for, and she's supposed to be autistic or something and not good at processing things, but if so, it wasn't displayed very well.

Way better than the average low budget Netflix sci fi fare. Smart writing and directing, solid acting, and AMAZING(ly efficient) world building made for a fun, thoughtful and engaging 96 minutes.

Solid enough small SciFi which I'll always welcome. Good leads, I imagine this movie had Pascal recommending Thatcher for Boba Fett. Not exactly "enjoyable" all the way through, but a good watch nonetheless. 6.3 for me.

Not your average sci-fi film, a bit of an atmospheric slow burn and an overall engaging experience.

Altogether Prospect is a good mixture of art and sci-fi that you have to get involved with. Not perfect, but definitely special.

In detail: The plot is coherent, comprehensible and completely okay for a sci-fi movie. The actors are both likeable and convincing. The scenery, make-up, effects, costumes, etc. Yes, low budget. But that's exactly what never bothered me. On the contrary. It certainly had charm. It was like the '80s had found its way back into space. For me, as a fan of that time, absolutely perfect.

The film takes its time. It develops and never really picks up speed. It's an unusual expedition that I followed with great anticipation. Yes, every now and then I had to force myself to stay on it, but I was rewarded every time anew.

My favourite scene: Cee takes something away from Ezra. And this with a serenity... just lovely. To avoid spoilers, I have abstracted the statement here as much as possible.

Cool scifi western concept unfortunately with very little substance. This works much better as a short. They manage to do a nice job with a small budget, but it doesnt do much for making this just a mediocre film with cool visual and costume effects.

If you were to tell me this was the role that landed Pedro Pascal his part in The Mandalorian, I wouldn't bat an eye. This small and quiet film gives us a glimpse into a future where, despite the advances that have been made, life is even more brutal, unforgiving, and fragile. This film takes that backdrop and uses it to give us a story of forced bonding, uneasy trust, and a unifying desire to survive. Despite the slow pace, there's a lot to unpack. And to top it off, the score is simple but spectacular, adding heavily to the tone.
