Excellent.

'Queen of Katwe' is another Disney sports biopic, but one made with a difference - it doesn't hit the exact same notes as the studio usually does in this genre, which is a positive. The film is shot lovely, with a terrific main cast.

Lupita Nyong'o is top notch in the role of Nakku, while Madina Nalwanga impresses in the lead as Phiona. David Oyelowo would be my personal standout, he's terrific as Robert, but all three add a great deal to the film to be fair. A few of the child actors give good support performances, also.

It does slightly suffer with the fact its story revolves around chess, which isn't the most exciting or massively interesting game/sport to watch across 124 minutes. However, it's about much more than just chess - it features a big life story too. It does a grand job at making you care for the individuals onscreen.

Highly recommend.

A good movie with a once again exceptional Lupita Nyong'o. I can't remember any performance or role where she wouldn't have managed to shine. Considering her overwhelming talent, I probably never will see her disappoint.

The movie gets a 7/10. And one point extra for Lupita.

Inspirational story that doesn't rely on huge emotional moments to make an impact. However, the closing of the film, where the actors stand with their real life counterparts, had me in tears. Thank God for the people who strive to make a difference in people's lives. Thank you Robert Katende!

In a need of strength and this movie came in the right time. Thank you for the movie.

In addition, the coach and the mother. Yes. They're a very inspirational beautiful-soul.

My favourite quotation from the movie:
"Reset the game and play again." (shorten version)

"Sometimes the place you are use to is not the place you belong." A great story with inspirational characters. Fantastic cast. I give it an 8 (great) out of 10. [based on a true story, Drama]

Very hopeful and inspiring story. If you dream big and don't give up you can be anything you aspire to be.

I loved the fact that they shot the movie on location, it made everything a lot more intense and emotional of some sort. The movie showed apart from the inspiring story of Phiona also a part of the lives the children in Africa live. The movie carried a message of meaning you don't often see in movies. Lupita Nyong'o played such a strong female part but Madina Nalwanga did as well. Younger but strong nonetheless. Very independent and following her own dream. Giving 100%. I loved that.

I really enjoyed this movie, but I enjoyed the messages even more.
