_Radio Days_ is a slice of life period piece set in the 1940s. As the name would suggest, it's centered around nostalgic memories of music, and shows on the radio. There is not much of a plot, per se, aside from a young, ersatz Woody Allen (played by Seth Green), while the movie is narrated by Allen himself - another reviewer pointed out the similarity to A Christmas Story, and it definitely has parallels, just without Christmas.
In typical Woody Allen fashion, we get many lovable characters, lots of funny moments, and a few heartfelt scenes.
The movie really is a love letter to the era, and I imagine it must hit differently to anyone who was alive during the time. Seeing as how I was just a kid when the movie came out, therefore a few decades behind the '40s, I have no connection to the time period. However, the story is told in such a masterful way as to make it timeless in its ability to entertain.
